Build Diary 01-January-06

First day of the year and I am back in the workshop! Started electrical wiring work by fitting connector block to high pressure pump and fuel flow meter. Continued to fit wiring to fuse.

Not the greatest picture - out of focus but you try with one hand! I am using these spade connectors in blocks for as many joints as I can.
These are spade multi-connector blocks, these will only allow the connector to be fitted one way around. They also latch together but I will also put a tie wrap around just to be sure.
Tidy hey, and very easy to maintain - no mixed up connections.
Simple, cheap light and effective.
The wiring behind the firewall.
All my wire runs through the subpanel cause the wire connections to drop away from the components. This is to ensure any water that may find it's way through the front of the canopy - usually when it's opened in the wet - will run down the wire and drop away rather than running into the box of electronics.
Start Mag switch connections.
I am running all in clips screwed to the underside of the subpanel and panel brace. After the top skin is fitted the only way to service these parts is from the underside. So I am thinking about this as I fit items. It must be possible to get to them from under the panel!
