Fitting a Dynon D100 to the RV7 (tipup canopy) instrument panel.
The Dynon D100 is the new larger screen version of the Dynon D10(A), however the mounting has changed significatly. Here I show how I modified the panel brace to fit the D100.

Test Flight with Bob Cole at the controls
First I mocked up the new panel in MDF.

Fitting the rest of the instruments around the D100. I tried a few mockups before I went for this layout.

This shows the changes needed to the panel brace.

Modifying the instrument panel brace.
Empannage Fitting
I had thought of adding this additional panel brace, but have since decided it's not required .
Test Flight with Bob Cole at the controls
I have reinforced the instrument panel brace.

Here I have added some angle running under the D100 mount. This stiffens up the brace and the D100 mount.
Test Flight with Bob Cole at the controls
The angle runs under the D100 mount, with a #6 screw through the base of the mount into the angle. This made the mount very secure.
Empannage Fitting
I added this angle on the other side to stiffen the bracket.

Building the Baffles with the Vans Baffle Kit
I have 133 pictures of building and fitting the Baffles to the Superior engine with oil cooler on baffles, so I have split them into the three sections below.
Empannage Fitting
Here are some general pictures of the Superior engine.

I fixed the D100 mount to the instrument panel with #6 screws. Nutplates were fitted to the D100 mount.
I was going to rivet the mount but decided screws would be better.
Making the mount removable will make painting the instrument panel easier.
